Trackside – The new Cookeville Staple for Excellent Food, Community & Entertainment

Have you been to the new Trackside in Cookeville, TN yet?! The new addition to the historic West Side of Cookeville is a wonderful new gathering place for family, friends, and community. It is dubbed as a Food Truck Park but has been made into so much more! During your visit to Trackside you will enjoy a family atmosphere, delicious food truck meals, music, and lots of fun!

We visited Friday 11/3/23 and were greeted with the sounds of soulful country music, children’s laughter floating through the air, and a beautiful well-kept area. Trackside was created and brought to life by Ricky & Shannon Shelton as a family-friendly food truck park with a welcoming atmosphere and a place for small businesses to thrive here in Cookeville.

One of my favorite things we discovered while visiting Trackside was the trackside wall with the mural. Who doesn’t love a place to take pictures for Instagram and other social media? There is a fantastic set of handpainted wings to take pictures in front of at Trackside and I had a great time finding my favorite pose for the camera!

The cool part of the mural is that it is lit up at night so it doesn’t matter if you come during the daytime hours or night, you can still get your perfect picture. Don’t forget to use those hashtags in the corner!

My next favorite thing of the night is the food! I am admittedly a picky eater but they seemed to have something that everyone would love. They always have several food trucks there and they have some of the best food in Cookeville! During this visit, we tried a Burger/fries from Gunsmoke Burgers & Grille and a Malibu Bondi Bowl from Bondi Bowls. Both were exceptional! Both food trucks put a ton of heart into what they do and it shows. We were able to customize our order to our liking without hassle. My fussy food-eating self was very satisfied after eating this superb food all while listening to the soothing vocals from Moose Miller on stage.

What made our dining experience even better was some special additions from Gunsmoke Burgers & Grille. It was a chilly night and they had several large outdoor propane heaters to sit by while eating and even a big-screen TV for those who wanted to watch the game. Since I get cold pretty easily I wasn’t super excited about sitting out in the cold, but I kept toasty warm while I ate and listened to the music making it a perfect night out on the town thanks to the heaters!

There were also two other food trucks there that night ( Fil-Thai & Abuela’s Cuban Cafe) and even though we didn’t try them, the people leaving with smiles on their faces said it all! They are even starting to bring in some pop-up shops, which is fantastic since the holiday season is right around the corner and you might just be able to find that perfect and unique gift for the ones you love!

While we were there we also got the privilege of listening to some great music performed live by Moose Miller. It was a wonderful show and really made it a perfectly relaxing night out with friends which also included amazing food, and a wonderful ambiance. They even had a giant Connect 4 game that some kids were playing and they were clearly having a blast! Their giggles filled the air and it was delightful to see! Trackside can be found at 172 W. Broad St. in Cookeville, TN. (West of the Depot) They are open Wednesday & Thursday 11 A.M. – 8 P.M. and Friday & Saturday 11 A.M. – 9 P.M.
